TOP 10 ROBERT DENIRO MOVIES

Written By: Clarkey

Mr. DeNiro has long been my favourite actor ever. Although the man’s career has become a joke, he still has been in some of the best movies ever made. Here’s a look back at what I feel are his best movies.

Honorable Mentions:
Casino
The Fan
Once Upon a Time in America

#10 Heat
DeNiro can play the bad guys like nobody’s business and his portrayal of Neil McCauley is simply a treat for the audience.

#9 Sleepers
DeNiro’s performance as Father Bobby in this film is underrated as he plays a priest who has to decide whether or not he will commit perjury to persecute two guards who sexually assaulted boys.

#8 The Deer Hunter
One of his most well-know performances is a beauty. Enough said.

#7 A Bronx Tale
I have to include this film because he also directs this hidden gem. This movie is very underappreciated and it is a shame because it is a stellar movie.

#6 Mean Streets
One of his first performances is one for the books. It’s wacky, off-beat and not DeNiro-like, but it shows his range as an actor.

#5 The Untouchables
No one could play a better Al Capone than DeNiro. He simply brilliant in the small screen time that he was given.

#4 Taxi Driver
I believe that if anyone else took this role the movie would not have been as awesome as it is. He definitely should’ve won the Oscar for it.

#3 Raging Bull
Arguably his best work. His most well-known role for the fact he won an Oscar and gained the weight just for the role. He did become Jake La Motta.

#2 Goodfellas
Simply outstanding performance that show his range as an actor in one film. He was a nice and happy gangster in one scene and then cursing like a mobster while whacking a guy in the next scene. I love it!

#1 The Godfather Part II
He won his first Oscar when he stole the movie from Al Pacino and filled the shoes of Marlon Brando at the same time. His portrayal of a young Vito Corleone was flawless. It was the movie that launched his brilliant career.
