written by:
CLARKEY

Honorable Mentions:

Austin Powers:
One of the best comedy trilogies.

Blade:
Wesley Snipes’ best character is the best vampire slayer and is a solid trilogy.

Evil Dead:
Sam Raimi shows us why he’s so good with this trilogy.

Jurassic Park:
The best trilogy about some genetically generated dinosaurs.

Lethal Weapon:
One of the best buddy cop movies.

Rocky:
The first one was brilliant, and the other 4 are solid movies, people.

THE TOP TEN

10. The Terminator:
The trilogy that made Arnold famous and is his most recognizable trilogy. Everybody knows that he was the Terminator. I was happy to see T3 back in 2003 and it didn’t disappoint; it was only a step down from the first two. But definitely the high points of Arnold’s movie career.

9. Scream:
Hands down, the best horror trilogy. Even though, it’s not really a scary or a horror movie. More a thrilling slasher movie. But it pokes fun at a lot of other movies and is a borderline spoof. Wes Craven is at his best here. Too bad, Randy didn’t get a bigger part, (one of the best characters in movie history).

8. Back to the Future:
Michael J. Fox’s best work is as Marty McFly in this great trilogy. I finally got around to seeing the sequels and they were good, not up to the original, but still very solid. And it’s one of the better overall trilogy that I have. Christopher Llyod is great as Doc and the movie has some memorable scenes, such as Marty palying "Johnny B. Good" and the skateboard chase.

7. Die Hard:
John McClane is one of the coolest characters and the Die Hard movies are some of the best action movies. The original is the best as usual, the sequel is a solid movie and the third installment doesn’t disappiont at all. Especially when Samuel L. Jackson offers his services to my man, Bruce.

6. The Mighty Ducks:
Gordon Bombay, Charlie Conway and the rest of the ducks have quacked they’re way onto the list. All three movies are great enjoyable family fun. Not too mention some hockey thrown in there, as well as disney ending, which is so unbelievable that it’s hilarious.

5. American Pie:
This is one of my favourite trilogies. All three of them are equally hilarious and find more disgusting and very embarassing things to happen Jim. Everybody shines in their roles, mainly Jason Biggs and Sean William Scott as Jim and Stifler, respectably. Also, Eddie Kaye Thomas only got funnier as the trilogy went on. Eugene Levy is perfectly cast as Jim’s father.

4. Indiana Jones:
One of the best adventure movies ever made. When Steven Speilberg and George Lucas get together to make a movie, you know it’s going to be spectular. And this trilogy is exactly that. Harrison Ford shines in the title role and all three are great, especially Raiders of the Lost Ark, which is one of my favourite movies of all-time. I’m skeptical for Indy Jones 4, but I’m also interested in seeing how they do it. Maybe, they’ll bring back Short Round, you never know.

3. Star Wars:
Hands down, best sci-fi trilogy. I mean the original three, episodes 4 to 6, although, I did enjoy the new ones, they’re nowhere near the quality of the originals. The special effects that they used back in the late 70s and early 80s were ground breaking and set a new level for sci-fi movies. George Lucas has created a whole cult that is still followed today and is of course is the God of the cult.

2. The Godfather:
Even though, the third one was a huge disappointment, this infamous trilogy is up here because of the first two movies. They are number one and two on my top 100 list, respectably. With names like Al Pacino, (who was robbed of an Oscar for his work as Michael Corleone), Marlon Brando, Robert DeNiro, Robert Duvall, James Caan, and Diane Keaton, it’s hard not to like. Francis Ford Coppola delivers his best stuff behind the camera based on Mario Puzo’s screenplay based on his book.

1. Lord of the Rings:
The best overall trilogy is the one with the hobbits. These three epics, which came out every December from 2001 to 2003, are some of the best movies ever made. Peter Jackson did a brilliant job bringing the legendary books to life and kudos to him and also a thank you since the movies got me into the books, which are just as great as the movies. The characters are memorable, well-rounded and perfectly cast. The story is the great struggle of good verus evil and the action sequences, mainly the war scenes, are capitivating and memorable, especially the moves that Legolas does in every movie. Overall, definitely the best trilogy ever.
